The first season of Loki left us on a pretty big cliffhanger; after Loki and Sylvie broke the time stream by killing He Who Remains, the pair finds themselves responsible for the possible destruction of, well, literally everything. So if you’ve been anticipating Loki Season 2, we don’t blame you. The wait won’t be much longer, though; Tom Hiddleston told Entertainment Tonight that the cast and crew are about to start filming.

“We’re starting very soon,” Hiddleston said of the Loki Season 2 production. “Almost as soon as I leave this room. Not quite, but it’s around the corner. We’ll certainly be going in the summer.”

The joint interview also included Loki creator and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness writer Michael Waldron, who gave us some very vague hints about what’s to come.

“It’s just a continued evolution of the character,” Waldron said. “That’s what was always important to Tom and that’s what was important to me. If we’re going to continue [Loki Season 1’s story] in Season 2, we have to cover new emotional ground. And the great news is that that character keeps revealing new layers of texture and complexity.”

Hiddleston’s co-stars Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will return to reprise their roles as Sylvie, Mobius M. Mobius, and Ravonna Renslayer. While Kate Herron directed Loki Season 1, she won’t be returning for Season 2. Marvel has reportedly selected Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Marvel Studios has not yet announced a release date for Loki Season 2. In the meantime, you can look forward to the Ms. Marvel series on June 8, and Thor: Love & Thunder a month later on July 8.
