This LYN: The Lightbringer tier list is still very new. Because the game has just released for about a month. This LYN: The Lightbringer tier list was constructed by many players who dedicated quite sometimes into the games. Therefore the assessment as well as the analysis of characters can be subjectively right or wrong. Since, again due to the game is still in its early stage. So, the tier list will have some changes after sometimes. 🙂

This tier list is separated into 5 sections as 5 classes in the game: Defense, Magic, MarksmanPhysical, and SupportMake sure you use the link to each class’s table in this tier list for easier navigation and reference.

As a player, you can always choose to follow the tier list for better gaming experience, especially, if you want to have some good characters and team combination at the start of the game. Again, please do not take this list as absolute when playing. Playing is for fun and enjoying.

Tanks aren't needed, nor should they be used, in raids.
LandiselBruiser - Self-HealBB---AHealing provides minimal mitigation and requires ATK build.100% anti-heal, great damage as the only tank that gains survivability from building ATK items
LeoraTank - Area CCSS---ASquishy, barrier is passive, A1 easily interruptedOK AoE CC, DEF debuff. Best mitigation of all tanks from passive barrier.
ReinaTank - BarrierS+S+---S+Only on-demand CC is A2 (long cd). Doesn't self-buff with PLMassive shield on A1 (almost as big as Leora's). Taunt is a massive 10s, ult is huge and strips all buffs
SophiaTank - AoE-BarrierSA---S+A1 is tiny, barrier is poor for own survival. Passive crit only.DEF debuff, shared barrier. Passive barrier incredible for PvP (but bad in PvE, being crit is rare)
VarosBruiser - Area CCAB---ASquishy, little mitigation, terrible on auto. Overextends healsDoes OK if micro'd, large rectangular stun on passive. CC immune during ultimate duration
VerulianTank - Self-BarrierS+S+---S+Small circular, 20s CD, stun passiveBasically everything else. Reflect barrier great at spreading damage, low CD
VyleTank - AoE PullS+A---S+Only survivability is 20s cd passive, basically an ult-bot2 target pull on Ult, A1 knockdown right after pull hits both pulled targets

AleistaST - Anti-HealBBABBBSame as Difrancis with but with a small rectangular A1K-Mart (budget) Difrancis, Crit DMG PL
DifrancisAoE - Anti-HealAABBSAPoor sustained damageAnti-healing on several abilities, replaced Fenrir as the most ideal tank killer after her rework
FenrirST - Rear-Attack / AHSASSS+SPositioning is dangerous. Needs to 'warm up' crit buff.Excellent uptime on anti-heal, high single target damage, backline targeting, self-ATK buff.
GaribaldiAoE - Area AttackBSBCCSSame as all other warriors - prone to death due to positioningImpressive AoE damage, possibly the highest of the warriors besides Ignis. A1 has impressive reach.
GrimhildeST - ExecuteBBBBSBHer positional will probably get her killedExecute' character. Perfect for finishing hard to reach, low health characters. BIG Ult
HayesAoE - Area CCSS+ABBS+Almost none. Damage is relatively lowPull is an active skill, all other actives are large area CC's. Toot toot.
IgnisAoE - Rear-AttackASBCBSPositional issues, like other warriors. Needs a strong healer/CCImpressive AoE capability, especially for a warrior. Higher tier if with burn heroes (Lilith, Hatchling, GLC)
JeanST - CCCDCDCCST damage skills with no special effects. Dodge PLOK single target damage
LephaionST - Rear-AttackAABCASHis positional can get him focused, killed. Poor sustained dmgExcellent at 'sticking' on the backline and killing squishies.
TaoAoE - Rear-AttackBABBCBHis positional, lack of kill potential will get him killedGreat disruption through CC, buff removal. Good AoE pressure, good ATK self-buff

AirenHealer - STSSAABSInflexible positioning. All healing is HoTs (burst is a counter)Full-party ATK buff, strong HoTs, and solid uptime CDR debuff. Most well-rounded healer.
LynHealer - ???S+S+S+S+S+S+No buffs or CC but it doesn't matter because of her healing power10s AoE Debuff immunity, double recovery % up buff, circular active heal (rare, op), huge heal #'s
MeldasHealer - STBBCBBBUnable to handle sustained AoE damage. Long cast on HoTDespite being a starter, is a dependable tank healer
MicilinHealer - AoESSSSSS1-dimensional heal bot. KD can be difficult to trigger, passive.Large circular heal, debuff removal, and fat 3 target heal. Healing PL
MiriamSupport - Off-HealerAASASSA2 is very small circular - usually a single enemy, high CD.Despite the skill drawbacks, blind is very strong.
Tia and TirenSupport - Off-HealerSS+SSSAPassive is RNG on proc, target. Small circular ult.Double A SPD buff (ult + A2). Ult buff is incredibly potent for AoE effect.
YorkSupport - CC, BufferSASSSARandom A1 targets. Small circular ult - requires midline if soloCan solo-heal raids if played well. ATK buff is great and has great uptime against AoE enemies.

LYN: The Lightbringer F2P/Low-Pay-2-Play Guide

1. Reset Marathon (Rerolling)

Don’t waste time rerolling. The more you play this game you’ll realize that this is a balance destruction game (the nerfs/buffs will keep overturning your chars). Just because it’s an Ancient, doesn’t mean you can’t overcome the gap. As long as you get 1-2 of the following epics, just start:

  • DPS: Seiji, Deshua, Shukiring
  • Healer: Airen, York
  • Melee: Hayes

Windry + Leora’s rare-rank is a lie, so no matter what make them 6* (Unless you have Verulian, Vyle, Yurieh, Shine, Loki)

2. Diamonds

  • Diamonds are for rolling, good or bad whenever you have enough, just roll.
  • Some say single pulls/900 diamond pulls are better but at the end of the day, it’s all your luck.

3. Do all the dailies

Make sure you do ALL the dailies you can within the day. The most important are the essence dailies, even if your CP is 30K, and you think you cant handle the Hard rank at 40K, just try first. Based on your team comp it can work or fail, you can always try the next one.

Raids give good gear so that’s essential too.

4. Coin Shop

Wings & essences. Wings, and Wings, Wings, Wings. If you really need to buy something, buy gold, blue essences, skillstones, divine essence (you can get gold if you buy divine essences and sell them)

5. Make sure you finish 9-10 Easy and get into NORMAL

Don’t be one of those that are like “no matter what I’m gonna get 3* from each map and move on!” These guys will never get anywhere. Just get to normal asap and grind for essences to make your chars 6*. This game is all about essences.

6. Combination Evolution/Grade

  • MAX+MAX level => next star grade
  • Same rarity + star grade => random char of same rank
  • Rarity is RNG

Just follow your heart and think very well. Purely RNG

7. Positioning

Lastly, we are using everything based on high dmg dealers.

Ie: 1 tank, 1 heal, 3 DPS. I don’t like using too many tanks and too many healers. Either do 1 tank 1 heal 3 dps or 1 tank 2 heal 2 dps. A healer needs sub+main.

  • Main healers: Lyn
    • Next: Micilin
    • Next: Airen
  • Sub-healer: Miriam
    • Next: York
  • DPS: Yurieh, Seiji and Shukiring are the hottest these days
    • Next: Shine, Loki
    • Next: Windry, Aki, Deshua, Lilith
  • Tanks: Verulian
    • Next: Vyle
    • Next: Leora/Sophia

If you don’t have ANY OF THESE: Just pray to the gods for better rolls.

In collusion this game is just about waiting for Wings and farming Essences and hoping for luck. Don’t be sad about not having Legendaries/Ancients.

Either way based on the fact that it’s a “balance destruction” game, it’s all so-so. All character will eventually shine in their own light.
