Crusader Kings 3 is bringing kingdom management to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The console release of one of 2020’s best games was announced at Gamescom 2021 on Tuesday during Microsoft’s Xbox stream.
The console version of Crusader Kings 3 is being developed by Lab42 in partnership with original developer Paradox Interactive. The new version of the game should look familiar to anyone who’s played the PC version of the game, with a few differences just for consoles.
According to Paradox, there are new features specifically designed to take advantage of each console’s unique features. The Xbox Series X version will allow players to quickly switch between Crusader Kings 3 game and YouTube, to help look up tutorials and information. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 5 version of the game will feature unique interactions between the game’s stress mechanic and the DualSense controller that will let players feel each tense moment of the game.
Of course, the console version will still feature all of the royal intrigue and ridiculous family trees that helped make the PC version of the game so great. One thing that doesn’t seem to be in the console release is the game’s Northern Lords DLC from earlier this year.
Crusader Kings 3 will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, but a firm date was not announced. The game will also be available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
