After years of waiting, Nintendo has finally shared more details on Bayonetta 3, including its release window and a new trailer. While we don’t know the official release date yet, Bayonetta 3 is arriving exclusively on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
The trailer poked fun at the long delay between its reveal and a full trailer. Once Cereza enters the frame, she says, “It seems I’m unfashionably late, but I’m ready to give you everything you want.” She then proceeds to fight some very large enemies, including a giant scorpion. The trailer is filled with chaotic destruction and, of course, lots of stylish action gameplay.
The end of the footage teased a new character, but it sure looked like the guy from Platinum Games’ canceled project Scalebound. You can watch the full trailer below. Bayonetta 3’s director is Yusuke Miyata, who previously worked as a designer on The Wonderful 101 and Astral Chain.
Bayonetta 3 was announced in 2017 for Nintendo Switch but very little information about the game had come to light until now. Before this, director Hideki Kamiya and Atsuhi Inaba from Platinum Games said they are eager to show more and fans needn’t worry about the game.
