There is no fish in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as notorious the sea bass. Here’s how it usually goes: Oh look! A large fish in the water! I hope it’s a shark! It’s never a shark. It’s always sea bass, with the same goddamn pun — yeah, yeah … it’s at least a C+. But things are changing around here.
Gone are the days of dreaming of the mod that rids the ocean of sea bass. There’s finally a use for them, introduced as part of the New Horizons 2.0 update that launched early on Wednesday, ahead of the scheduled Nov. 5 release date. Players quickly figured out that sea bass can be cooked with New Horizons’ new cooking feature: Grilled sea bass, anyone?
So far, I’ve unlocked two recipes for sea bass. The first is grilled sea bass with herbs, which I picked from the weeds on my island. The second, sea bass pie, unlocked after I caught a sea bass. Like me, plenty of other New Horizons players are delighted by the discovery.
