Legendary game designer Hideo Kojima has posted a cryptic teaser for what looks like a new project, and people believe his collaborator Norman Reedus may be involved.

Posting on Twitter, Kojima shared an image of people in a studio space who appear to be preparing to film something. Commenters believe the person in the white shirt and black boots in the foreground is Norman Reedus, though this not confirmed, of course. Reedus was going to star in Kojima’s Silent Hills project before it fell apart, but he reunited with Kojima in Death Stranding.

“Recently, I’ve been revising the plan and script, and experimenting with everything else,” Kojima said, without giving away any specifics. Kojima is known for being cryptic, so this is pretty normal.

Games media personality Geoff Keighley, who organizes The Game Awards and is a friend of Kojima’s, replied to the tweet with eyes emoji. This doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it’s gotten people theorizing that Kojima might show up at The Game Awards on December 9.

Kojima Productions recently opened a film and TV studio in Los Angeles, so it’s possible this new project that Kojima is teasing is not a game at all.

The latest game from Kojima Productions was Death Stranding Director’s Cut, which released in September. The team’s next game might be an Xbox title, though nothing has been confirmed at this stage.

Even if Kojima doesn’t have any news to share at The Game Awards, it’s shaping up to be a huge event. It will feature 40-50 games, and about 10 brand-new announcements. As for the awards themselves, Deathloop leads the way with nine total nominations, including a nod for Game of the Year. The Game Awards take place Thursday, December 9, starting at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET.
