In response to negative feedback, 343 Industries has announced further steps to help improve the XP and progression systems in Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta. The changes are now live.

Community manager John Junyszek ran through the changes on Twitter, saying players can expect increased XP payouts for the first six matches each day. Here is the rundown:

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta XP Changes:

  • 1st Game = 300XP
  • 2nd Game = 200XP
  • 3rd Game = 200XP
  • 4th Game = 100XP
  • 5th Game = 100XP
  • 6th Game = 100XP
  • 7th+ Game = 50XP

“We believe this increase will help address those slower initial payouts while also benefiting those of you jumping on each and every day,” Junyszek said.

He went on to say that 343 understands that players want to see even more substantial changes to XP. The studio plans to deliver such changes, but it might not happen soon.

“We know many of you want even larger changes and we’re committed to doing so, but those will take time. We made this update based on data and player feedback, and we’ll monitor its impact after we push it live tomorrow morning. As always, keep sharing your feedback!” Junyszek said.

This is the second update to Halo Infinite’s XP system since the multiplayer launched on November 15. The first added daily “play one game” challenges, updated existing weekly challenges, and doubled the duration of double XP boosts.

As Junyszek said, these changes represented just the start, so keep checking back for more on how the XP system will change going forward.

In other news, Halo Infinite’s full release date on December 8 is coming up soon, and retail copies of the game have begun to leak.
