Netflix has released the first images from Season 2 of Space Force, its comedy featuring The Office star Steve Carell as a four-star general tasked with getting the newly-created Space Force defense project off the ground. The next batch of episodes is set to premiere on Netflix on February 18.
The workplace comedy launched on the streaming service back in May 2020, and it was announced in November of that year the series will return for a sophomore season. Along with this set of preview images, Netflix has also recently revealed that Norm Hiscock (Parks & Recreation, People of Earth) will be joining Season 2 executive producer and co-showrunner alongside alongside Greg Daniels (The Office), plus returning cast member Jimmy O. Yang will pull double duty as a writer in the new season. Check out the new images below.

The show is inspired by President Trump’s proposal for a sixth branch of the military, concerned with intergalactic warfare. The creative team has indicated that although there’s been a change in the political administration since the series debuted, the show still has a long creative runway ahead. Behind the scenes, for Season 2 the comedy has also changed things up by moving production from Los Angeles to Vancouver.
Reception to Space Force has been mixed. In GameSpot’s review of Season 1, Chris Hayner thought the comedy was a “major disappointment” given the show’s status as a reunion between the creator of the American version of The Office and its biggest star.
