A new clip for HBO Max’s Peacemaker series has gone live, showing off John Cena’s commitment to preserving peace by violently killing anyone who threatens it. The only problem though is that it’s hard to achieve global tranquility when your long-distance sniper rifle doesn’t feature a dove engraved on it.
The Ghost of Peace just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

The Suicide Squad spin-off arrives on HBO Max on January 14 and focuses on Peacekeeper and his black ops support team as they tackle a possible world-ending threat. This is the first time that the DC Extended Universe has branched off into television, with this series being a spin-off of last year’s well-received The Suicide Squad.
In addition to John Cena reprising his role as Peacekeeper, the series also stars Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Chukwudi Iwuji, and Danielle Brooks. Freddie Stroma rounds out the cast as Vigilante, a classic character from DC Comics history. As far as first impressions go, the show is a blast of fun, action, and emotional depth that makes a good first impression. You can read more in our Peacekeeper review.
The Suicide Squad director James Gunn wrote all of the episodes for Peacemaker, directed five of the eight episodes in this season, and also serves as showrunner. The rest of 2022 is packed with other DCEU films, starting with The Batman in March, Black Adam arrives in July, The Flash races into cinemas in November, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom ends the year for DC in December.
