Wyverns have come to Ark: Survival Evolved. The new DLC expansion map of Fjordur in Ark: Survival Evolved has introduced several new dinosaurs, regions to explore, and resources to harvest. As always in Ark, getting around the map to accomplish the different tasks set out for you is made ten times easier if you have a tamed creature to help you along the way. Whether this is so you can ride it around the map, saving hours compared to being on foot, or helping you retrieve items you’ve lost after death, having a handy-dandy dino by your side makes life easier in Ark. On the map of Fjordur, the story is the same. However, the dinosaurs this time around can be a little difficult to tame, so why go through all of the trouble? In Fjordur, you can acquire wyvern eggs, that can hatch and give you an already-tamed wyvern.
As you might expect, you can find wyvern eggs in the same areas that you can find their fully-grown counterparts. There are four different types of wyverns in Fjordur: Fire, Lightning, Ice, and Poison. All four of these wyverns are located in different parts of the map, so you’ll need to travel far and wide in order to acquire all four of the eggs. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find each and every wyvern and their corresponding eggs in ARK: Survival Evolved Fjordur.
Ark Fjordur wyvern eggs
Only one of the wyverns, the fire wyvern, is accessible via the regular map of Fjordur. The other three are only found in the Norse regions that players can access through the portals found on the map. These regions are named after mythological Norse realms. Players can go through the portal by going to Vannaland and heading to the western side of the wooded forest located on the southwest side of the island. Here, players have the choice of going to Jotunheim, Asgard, and Vanaheim. All three of these regions hold a different type of wyvern and wyvern egg, which players can see where to exactly find below.
Lightning Wyvern
As one might expect from its name, the Lightning Wyvern is located in Asgard. While players won’t run into Thor or Odin in this version of the mythical city, they will find plenty of Lightning Wyverns. As mentioned above, players can access the portal located on Vannaland to get to Asgard. The coordinates for the portal are 40.80 – 57.30. Once in Asgard, players can head to these coordinates: 30.10 – 08.20 to find the Lightning Wyverns. Near these coordinates, players can find a cave on the right side of a lake near the portal, which is found behind a huge skeleton. Entering this cave and then following the tunnel will lead players right to the wyverns.
Upon seeing the player, the wyverns will begin trying to shoot lightning that can deal a tremendous amount of damage. Naturally, players want to avoid this lightning at all costs. It’s wise to bring as much protection as possible to Asgard so players can survive a hit or two of the lightning if they do get hit. When players are trying to get hit by lightning, they can find the Lightning Wyvern eggs inside cavities along the walls of the trench where the wyverns are located.
Ice Wyvern
The frozen region of Jotunheim is where players can find the Ice Wyverns in ARK Fjordur. Like the Lighting Wyverns, players need to access the portal at coordinates 40.80 – 57.30 and enter Jotunheim. Immediately upon entering the realm, players will see a mountain to their left with bones sticking out of it. Go toward this specific mountain and eventually, players will find a trench just past it. Below this trench is the coordinates 66.30 – 32.20, which is where the Ice Wyverns are located. Players will know they’re in the correct spot when they see the wyverns flying around overhead. Just past where they’re flying, there is a cave that players can enter to find the eggs on the cavities of the walls.
Ice Wyverns are extremely deadly, as they have an ice breath that can kill players instantly. The breath also has a much wider area of effect than players might expect, so stay as far away as possible from the icy breath of the wyverns.
Poison Wyvern
To find the noxious version of the wyvern, players will need to travel to Vanaheim. Go through the same portal located at coordinates 40.80 – 57.30 to reach the Norse realm. Once here, players can head to the forest and keep going north until they reach a cave. This cave is located near a waterfall that empties into a closed river. The coordinates players are looking for are 12.80 – 64.70. Inside of the cave, players will find the eggs sitting in the cavities of the wall a little after they enter. These cavities will glow a bright green color, so they shouldn’t be too difficult to spot.
Poison Wyverns aren’t as lethal as other wyverns in Fjordur but still shouldn’t be taken lightly. They can shoot poisonous balls at players that explore upon impact. This explosion causes the balls to release gas that can kill players with a few breaths. Wearing a gas mask is recommended for players making the trek to Vanaheim.
Fire Wyvern
Finally, the last wyvern in Fjordur is the Fire Wyvern. This type isn’t located within one of the Norse realms but instead on the map of Fjordur itself. More specifically, the wyvern is located on the southwestern island of Fjordur, Balheimr Island. Once on the island, players will need to travel to the southernmost point, beyond the mountains and right near the volcano. Players are looking for the coordinates 85.00 – 70.00 once they reach the island and begin their journey. After players arrive at these coordinates, they will see a ravine that contains purple pillars on its walls.
At the bottom of this ravine are the Fire Wyverns, which players need to be careful around. The wyverns can spew fire out of their mouths but the range on this fire isn’t too long, so players should just keep their distance. Once at the bottom of the ravine, the Fire Wyvern eggs are found within the cavities along the walls.
Those are all of the wyvern eggs that players can collect in ARK: Survival Evolved Fjordur. If you’re new to the game, don’t miss our Ark: Survival Evolved tips for beginners. You can also check out where to find all of the unique creatures on the Fjordur map.
