CD Projekt Red still plans to update and expand Cyberpunk 2077 with further bug fixes and free DLC, but these efforts have been delayed into 2022.
An update to the Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap spotted by VGC shows that “updates, improvements, and free DLCs” are now on the schedule to launch in 2022. Previously, the updates and DLC were expected to launch in 2021. Specifically, the new updates, free DLC, and the next-gen update for Cyberpunk 2077 will now be released in Q1 2022 (January-March).
Cyberpunk 2077’s roadmap
Cyberpunk 2077’s PS5 and Xbox Series X|S edition was scheduled for 2021, but it has been delayed to 2022 alongside the new-generation version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Cyberpunk 2077’s new edition will come first, in Q1 2022, with The Witcher 3’s new version slated for Q2.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming up on its first birthday this December, and what a first year it has been. The game’s release was marred with issues, and things got so bad that Sony removed the game from sale on the PlayStation Network. It was finally reinstated back in June with a warning that players could still experience issues when playing on the base PS4 console. However, the game has received a steady number of patches this year to fix its performance and bugs.
Despite the issues, Cyberpunk 2077 sold nearly 14 million copies in 21 days and is one of the highest-selling RPGs in the history of video games.
