Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 is so very close now, but first a major new Fortnite event for Season 2 is just hours away from sending Season 2 off for good. The Collision event is nearly here, and we can safely expect things to get explosive once again. After their war has raged on for 11 weeks, the IO and Seven will collide one more time for control of the Zero Point. New map locations will shake up the battle royale, as will new loot to find and new storylines. As always, there will also be new battle pass rewards to earn during the season, and if you want to know everything about Fortnite Season 3, including info on the finale event beforehand and the start date, we’ve got you covered. The new season will usher in new map locations, new storylines to complete, new loot to discover, and plenty of cool battle pass rewards. Here’s everything we know about Fortnite Season 3, including the finale event preceding it, the start date, and more.

When is the Fortnite event?

Epic hasn’t officially said when the new season begins, but we can reasonably infer its start date based on one major piece of information: The Season 2 finale event, Collision, happens this Saturday, June 4 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 start date

That should mean Season 3 kicks off the following day after some downtime, June 5. This Fortnite event will likely plan a major role in any changes made to the Season 3 map.

The event’s date actually implies the season has been extended, though just by one single day. All season long, the battle pass menu included the detail that the pass would expire on June 3, but now it says June 4. As Epic likes to finish and launch seasons on a Saturday-Sunday schedule lately, this slight adjustment makes sense.

Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3 battle pass: Darth Vader and Indiana Jones

The next battle pass should be a big one, according to some credible leaks. It’s now been years since a Fortnite battle pass didn’t include at least one licensed character, and that trend looks to continue in Season 3 with one of the most requested characters yet: Darth Vader.

The Star Wars Sith lord is alleged to be a part of Season 3 by the reliable Tabor Hill aka TaborTimeYT, who also revealed that Indiana Jones would be coming to the game as well. While Hill did not specifically say either or both of these characters would be included in the battle pass–a separate leak seems to confirm the Lucas-made characters will be there. The legitimacy of this leak seems to have been confirmed by the June Crew Pack pictured within it, which includes a reimagined Doggus, or Mecha Team Leader, to match its appearance in this weekend’s event. If that part is accurate, it stands to reason the rest is too, though we won’t know for sure until the new season arrives.

Along with those big names, the leaked battle pass screen looks to confirm six of the likely eight characters. This also includes a woman styled in a black dress with red and blue dual pistols (who fans once spotted in an Epic survey and took to mean she would be Switch-exclusive), as well as a new customizable hero, Snap, who appears to be an action figure that players will assemble as the season goes on. This image leaves only two heroes as complete mysteries until the new season begins this month.

Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 2 finale event

The Collision event is on the way. In this new one-time-only live story event, the IO will seek to activate its mysterious and intimidating Collider device at the heart of the island. Can the Resistance and The Seven push back and drive out the IO once and for all?

Each new season comes with new landmarks and map locations, and Season 3 looks poised to reshape the island once more on account of this massive particle collider sitting on the map. As time goes on, we’ll surely hear more about Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 3, and in such cases, we’ll be sure to keep this page up to date. Brace yourselves, the island is plunging into chaos once more.
