Filmmaker Matt Reeves has uploaded a 4K clip of a scene from his upcoming movie The Batman. As he announced on Twitter, the decision to share this clip was prompted by a previous leak of the scene in lower quality in advance of the film’s March 4 release date.
Reeves, who directed and co-wrote The Batman with Peter Craig (Bad Boys for Life), has indicated that the upcoming DC film will pay particular attention to Batman’s earliest days as a burgeoning caped crusader. This three-minute scene is an interesting look at the complications Bruce Wayne endures to keep his alter ego a secret, in the heightened context of a funeral the billionaire attends that the Riddler terrorizes. As you can see in the clip below, this incarnation of the Riddler seems to know exactly who Batman is behind the mask–he watches Wayne from above when all chaos breaks loose, to see how he’ll react.
Many of you may have seen this scene from @TheBatman floating around online, so I decided to put it on my vimeo in 4k. #AdvanceTickets go on sale 2/10! In the meantime, hope you enjoy this sneak peak… #TheBatman comes out #OnlyInTheaters on March 4th!https://t.co/ZIA8RjHqen

The Batman, which has a runtime is two hours and 47 minutes, stars Robert Pattinson as the Batman and Bruce Wayne, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot. The film will also spawn two spin-offs, including one that will feature Farrell reprising his role as The Penguin. Reeves is also developing an HBO Max series that will focus on the Gotham City Police Department.
Former dark knights Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will reprise their roles in The Flash movie. Affleck previously mentioned that he “finally figured out Batman” when shooting his scenes for The Flash, as compared to the negative experience he had while working on Justice League.
