HBO has released new character photos for its upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. The posters shows off the main characters of the fantasy show, which focuses on the Targaryens. What’s more, the newest House of the Dragon trailer is out now.
This is the family of Daenarys from the main Game of Thrones, and the show will shed new light on the house’s backstory. Take a look through the gallery below to see all the new posters. The images show off characters like Rhaenys Targaryen, Corlys Velaryon, Alcient Hightower, Otto Hightower, Viserys Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, and Rhaenyra Targaryen.

House of the Dragon premieres August 21 on HBO Max. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood series, the story takes place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
Not long after House of the Dragon releases comes another high-profile fantasy show, Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series, which premieres September 2 on Prime Video.
According to a report, House of the Dragon carries a budget of under $20 million per episode. The show was co-created by Martin and Ryan Condal. Condal is also the co-showrunner with director Miguel Sapochnik, who is a Game of Thrones veteran known for the Battle of the Bastards episode, among others.
