Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to soar at the box office, becoming the first movie during the pandemic to make $1 billion globally, according to Deadline. Through Sunday, December 26, No Way Home made $1.05 billion worldwide. It’s also Sony’s second biggest movie ever, only trailing Spider-Man: Far From Home, which made $1.13 billion.
No Way Home is 2021’s biggest movie by box office earnings, and it reached $1 billion after just 12 days, and without releasing in China. No Way Home reached $1 billion globally in the third fastest time ever, only trailing Avengers: Endgame (5 days) and Avengers: Infinity War (11 days).
In terms of geographic split, No Way Home has made $467.3 million in North America and $587.1 million from international markets.
Sony reportedly spent more than $200 million to promote No Way Home.
Sony producer Amy Pascal recently said a new Spider-Man trilogy of films with Tom Holland could be in the works, but importantly, no deal has been made. Holland is planning to take a break from acting and focus on his family and other endeavors.
