Will Poulter has been cast as Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and now the actor has spoken a little more about what it’s like joining the MCU. Speaking to Variety, Poulter said he’s not allowed to share any specifics about his role (“I’m sworn to secrecy,” he said), though the actor did say he feels honored to be involved in such a big project.
Poulter stars on the Hulu show Dopesick alongside Michael Keaton, and Poulter said, “[I’m] very, very grateful to, you know, be talking about something like Dopesick on one hand and talking about something–or, not talking about something–like Guardians on the other. But very, very grateful to be doing both.”
Overall, Poulter said he feels “very honored to have been welcomed into the Marvel family.” He added: “Everyone I’ve interacted with there is great and you know, [I’m] very excited to be part of a franchise like Guardians, which I regard to be like, one of the most creative and unique.”
In the comics, Adam Warlock is meant to be a perfect being. He’s one of the few beings in the comics who can handle the Infinity Gauntlet and, like Vision, is host to one of the Infinity Gems–the Soul Gem.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is scheduled to premiere in May 2023. Although series star Chris Pratt recently went to set, filming has not actually begun at this stage.
Guardians 3 is scheduled for release in May 2023. It was not one of the many MCU films to be delayed recently. Guardians 3 and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will film simultaneously, though the holiday special is scheduled for release in Holiday 2022.
Writer-director James Gunn is keeping very busy. After releasing The Suicide Squad to great success this year, he is now filming scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, a new attraction coming to Disney World’s Epcot.
