DC and Warner Animation are producing a new animated Catwoman movie. The film is titled Catwoman: Hunted, and it will star Elizabeth Gillies (Dynasty) in the title role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plot of Catwoman: Hunted will focus on Catwoman’s attempts to steal a priceless jewel. The heist “puts her squarely in the crosshairs of both a powerful consortium of villains and the ever-resourceful Interpol as well as Batwoman.”

Gillies will be joined by several high-profile names as other iconic DC characters. These include Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul) as Black Mask, Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead) as Julia Pennyworth, Keith David (The Thing) as Tobias Whale, Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation) as King Faraday and Boss Moxie, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Cruella) as Cheetah.

Catwoman: Hunted doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, but THR states it is expected in early 2022. The film is directed by anime director Shinsuke Terasawa (Yo-Kai Watch 4), with a script by Greg Weisman, who previously wrote Young Justice for DC, and two recent Magic: The Gathering novels, War of the Spark: Ravnica and War of the Spark: Forsaken.

In related news, it was recently reported that there’s a new animated Batman show in the works for HBO Max and Cartoon Network. The series is titled Batman: Caped Crusader and will be produced by JJ Abrams, Bruce Timm, and Matt Reeves. There’s also a new podcast titled Batman: The Audio Adventures set to hit HBO Max in the fall.
