Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets a Nintendo Direct live stream on Friday all to itself, during which fans can expect to see new characters and new content teased during September’s Nintendo Direct. The broadcast gets started at 10 a.m. EDT/7 a.m. PDT.

Fans can tune in via Nintendo’s YouTube channel (embedded above) or Twitch stream. The show should be about 20 minutes long, and the content described will be joining the game in November.

Nintendo announced the special direct for Animal Crossing: New Horizons three weeks ago, teasing viewers with a glimpse of The Roost, the café owned and operated by fan-favorite character Brewster, who has yet to appear in the latest game.

Players have been anxious for a content update for some time, as the last major content addition came in March, and Nintendo acknowledged fans’ impatience with a note in July that said more free content was in development and coming soon.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the fifth main title in the 20-year-old social simulation, launched March 20, 2020. Partly because of stay-at-home orders and quarantine lifestyles brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic, New Horizons was the third-best selling game of 2020, and it is the second-best selling Nintendo Switch game to date.
