Netflix has released a new trailer for the final season of its lavish reboot of the classic ’60s sci-fi series Lost in Space. All Season 3 episodes will be released on the streaming service on December 1.
A synopsis for Season 3 indicates that this last batch of eight episodes find “the Robinsons’ survival instincts kick[ing] into hyperdrive as they race to reunite and protect Alpha Centauri from a robot invasion… after a year of being trapped on a mysterious planet, Judy, Penny, Will and the Robot must lead the 97 young Colonists in a harrowing evacuation.”
The trailer above suggests the show will be given a great sendoff–and if you’ve been on the fence about watching it because of a hazy awareness of the original series being kinda cheesy, know that this show strikes a totally different and more sober tone. Check out the new clip below, as it also will serve as a good indicator of whether you might like to dive in and catch up by December 1.
Developed for Netflix by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, Gods of Egypt), this new version of Lost in Space stars Molly Parker (Deadwood), Toby Stephens (Die Another Day), Maxwell Jenkins (Sense8), Taylor Russell (Words on Bathroom Walls), Mina Sundwall (Maggie’s Plan), Ignacio Serricchio (Bones), Parker Posey (Waiting for Guffman), and Brian Steele (Predators). Zack Estrin (Prison Break) is showrunner.
