After the recent announcement of Splitgate's Beta Season 2 launch date, 1047 Games has released more info on the changes players can expect to see in the upcoming season.

Splitgate is kicking off its first season with some big content drops.

Along with a new seasonal event, the FPS is also getting brand-new gameplay features in the future, including a map editor.

Now that Splitgate developer 1047 Games is flush with investment cash, the Halo-meets-Portal shooter could expand into the battle royale genre one day.

1047 Games is now valued at $1.5 billion and it plans to hire more developers thanks to the recent injection of cash.

The popular Halo-meets-Portal arena shooter has officially entered Season 0, which introduces a ton of new content like an additional map, a brand-new mode, and another battle pass.

When playing Splitgate, you now have the option of climbing the ranks in 4v4, Takedown, or 2v2.

The shooter that's basically a combo of Halo and Portal has become extremely popular.

Developer 1047 Games said the "vision" for Splitgate is for it to be available everywhere with functionality for people to play together with their friends regardless of platform.preference.

There's no release date for it yet, but 1047 Games said Splitgate will get "obvious" enhancements whenever it launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Splitgate continues to have server issues and long queue times as the developers try to increase server capacity.
